We Have Grown…
Partners in Travel & New Faces at Intriguing Africa
We began our online travel journey with Intriguing Africa 3 years ago, during the depths of a world recession and a rather alarming situation at the time (although we felt it was a kind of a 'now-or-never' situation, and we believed our specialist knowledge of travel in Africa coupled with personalized attention would grow the business).
We are delighted that business has come through from all corners of the globe, first as a trickle as we frantically worked to raise our Google rankings and then as enquiries and conversions have improved month on month and year on year, and our excitement and enthusiasm mirrors this growth, we now welcome on board two new faces to Intriguing Africa.
Nicky Duffy who is based in Brisbane, Australia and Caroline Mason, based within the United Kingdom, who will both assist with marketing as well as bookings from both Australia and the UK.
Meet Mellissa Williams- South Africa, partner
Fiona hitched back pack six months after leaving school and headed out in anticipation of travel and adventure. After a number of years of a yo-yo lifestyle of home and abroad, she naturally followed a career in travel, but mostly remained within the creative areas of travel, from travel writing, advertising and marketing, as well as product development and supplier contracting. For this reason, Fiona and Mellissa's skills and knowledge areas are complimentary.
"I love active holidays with the kids, hiking in the wilderness, bike trails, diving – not that I'm the fittest in the group generally, but I try my best, and always pack the pain killers!"
"My favourite holiday at home (well in Africa) was when we travelled via car – in those days it was an 1100 Toyota Conquest – fire-engine red – from South Africa to Zimbabwe, into Zambia – the highlights being Masivingo (The Great Zim Ruins), the Chinoyi Caves, a house boat on Lake Kariba, Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park. I also have to mention my safari in Chobe and the Okavango Delta a few years later. This was definitely a bucket-list experience as the wildlife and open wilderness of these wild places took my breath away."

Australia and when I got back onto terra firma, I decided to join them and 'check-out' this Kangaroo capital! It is here that I met my husband, and have welcomed my daughter into the world and this is where I now call home – a leafy suburb west of Brisbane, not unlike the one I grew up in."

I think South Africa is one of, if not the most beautiful countries in the world, rich in so many ways. And so… here I am… working with great enthusiasm, to bring people to his wonderful land which really does have something for everyone; stunning scenery, many rich and varied cultures, a climate that supports outdoor living and a huge variety of fascinating, beautiful and awesome wildlife.
Once bitten, forever smitten! South Africa – come and see for yourselves and you'll see what I mean."

When we first launched our website, we carefully considered what we wanted to convey to our online viewers about who we are and our commitment to creating holidays that leave a lasting impression. We want our clients to return time and again.
It is a wonderful thing to see a business grow, from hands-on hard work – our passion for Africa and our attention to detail, along with our specialist knowledge are our strongest assets.
