Mozambique is all about beach action, with a coastline that extends for approximately 2500km, coupled with two archipelago’s off of mainland Mozambique. The Bazaruto Archipelago and the Quirimbas Archipelago which are exceptional beach and island holiday destinations, where blinding white sands and a transparent turquoise ocean, lined with coconut palms and vegetated sand dunes – a calling card of extreme beauty – it’s tropical island bliss.

In Mozambique’s capital city of Maputo, a number of day tour options are available to you, from a guided Maputo city tour which takes in the capitals many historical sights. There is also a hop-on-hop-off ‘Maputo Express’ which is a fun outing for the whole family. Day tours from the city of Maputo include the island of Inhaca, where bird life abounds, coral reefs and crystal clear waters attract many tourists. North of Maputo lies Bilene which is a full day of cultural sights, and a day spent enjoying the water sports on the lake and the wildlife that abounds within this natural paradise.
If you are spending time in Maputo, whether business or leisure-pleasure, we can suggest and include day tours within your full itinerary quotation.
A very popular add on to Maputo is South Africa's world-renowned Kruger National Park, which is literally a two hour road transfer (on average – approximate timings also depend on border control formalities and congestion at the border post between South Africa and Mozambique) from Maputo in South Africa.
Full day guided tours operate regularly out of Maputo visiting the Kruger National Park, however we highly recommend a one night stop over if your time is limited as opposed to the day tour experience. Of course your best option is two to three nights in Kruger if you have the time, as this will create enough opportunity for you to truly appreciate this wilderness bounty.
Intriguing Africa have an exciting one night stop-over package from Maputo, which includes a sunset safari as well as an early morning safari. Wildlife are most active during the cool early mornings and late afternoon/evenings, particularly the predators. By taking-in both a sunset safari as well as an early morning safari, you are maximizing your time on safari during peak game viewing.
A full day safari will still yield the delights of Kruger – which are numerous – not only the Big Five, but also the African bush itself is a wonderful sight, along with incredible bird life. Also one never knows what action will present itself at any time of day in Kruger, however early morning and evening are viewed as the best game viewing times of the day. On a day tour you will depart Maputo early morning arriving between 08h00 and 09h00 in Kruger, by this time the sun is up and the temperatures are starting to rise. Wildlife rests as temperatures begin to rise, particularly midday as it is just to hot too expend energy on hunting. As the day begins to cool in the late afternoon, the cats begin to stretch and yawn and get ready for the hunt. On a day tour, you will leave the park late afternoon in order to begin the road journey back to Maputo.
