Why us

Having been within the travel and tourism industry our entire careers, and having chosen this career path based on the fact that we both have a bit of the 'wander lust' in our souls, we feel the below points will guide you as to 'why' to book your holiday in Africa with us.

  • Our website is a credible and valuable source of travel information, which will evolve and mature with time. However we like to keep it personal, so you can expect to find out more about the products and travel opportunities within Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, as a review based on hands on experience.
  • We honestly share information about the products and services we promote.
  • We actively look for accommodation that offers that 'something special', that quite often is not a tangible explanation, but based on emotion at the pure joy of being 'in the moment'. However we do realise that there is a check list of what a property 'needs to have', 'nice to have' etc which does form part of our quality control. We prefer owner run, intimate guest houses and safari lodges as the hands on approach mirrors our own efforts for service and qaulity.
  • We listen to what you want from your holiday, and we tailor make your holiday to suit you and your family.
  • We foster friendly and efficient communication with our clients and suppliers.
  • We encourage feedback, both the good and the bad and will actively address all concerns.
  • Our turn around / response time is prompt, and we will keep you informed and updated on the progress of your holiday booking.
  • We are always available to assist our clients and are always just a phone call away.
  • We have extensive knowledge in travel in Africa, and approach our business with flexibility and creativity.

We negotiate our pricing with our suppliers based on value for money. We know that everyone likes a bargain, and buying holidays over the internet, we do realise that many travel companies use discount deals and prices slashed to advertise holidays in Africa. Our advice here is to always compare pricing, get alternate quotes for your holiday, as you may just find that all the extra's and the niceties have been stripped from the rate that you are buying, and you'll have to pay for the extra's once you reach your destination anyway. The properties and services that we choose to work with offer a wonderful experience, as they are well located, with elegant decor, gourmet cuisine and often there are great value adds which enhance your holiday experience. We do have the budget range of products, but we have still chosen these properties for the extra special experiences that they are. We always bear value for money at the heart of our negotiations.

Responsible Tourism

Where we can, we choose to work with properties and services that promote a shared approach to tourism with local communities. The wilderness and wildlife in Africa, is also an aspect of our lives that touches us deeply, being both avid campers and the 'getting back to nature' type of holiday that suits our families. Local upliftment and wildlife conservation is an important facet of our business which we will continue to 'grow into'. We know that this is a statement said so easily, it slides off the tongue like jelly in conversation, but we mean it from the heart, and as we develop the 'finer details' on our website, you will begin to see and read this involvement to a much greater degree.

Travelling to South Africa with your family?

We have a wonderful selection of safari lodges in South Africa (Kruger Park or the Madikwe Reserve), Botswana (Okavango Delta), Zimbabwe (Hwange) and Namibia (Sossusvlei and Etosha) for a family safari that will leave an indelible impression on the kids. There are a number of child friendly destinations in Africa, for an 'experiential' family vacation, highlights include Cape Town, the Garden Route, Sun City and yes, the metropolis of Johannesburg has bucket-loads of family entertainment. In Africa the tropical islands of Mozambique and Mauritius are outstanding family holidays where all inclusive packagesmeans you know exactly what you are paying for.

Thinking of getting married abroad? Going on honeymoon?

Let Africa open her heart to you! The wilds of Africa are intensely romantic – fire light dinners under an African sky… and it's no idle boast that in the African wilderness the night skies dance with twinkle of thousands of stars… cocooned within the sights and smells of the African bush, it's a unique experience that truly is an adventure of a lifetime. A safari wedding has wow factor! Safari lodges also go out of their way to ensure that your wedding or honeymoon will be something sensational.

The island of Mauritius has got the art of wedding romance fine tuned at great value for money. The islands off of Mozambique are something exceptional, tropical island dreaming with an African charisma. To honeymoon here is pure escapism, with the bluest of oceans and soft white sand underfoot, it's barefoot luxury. The spice island of Zanzibar off of mainland Tanzania is another exotic destination for newly weds, long stretches of coastline and yet again azure blue waters, with ancient Stone Town steeped in history.

Africa's pandora's box of blissful honeymoon and wedding retreats/options to coin a well used phrase, will create memories for a lifetime.

Our Choice of Accommodation, Products & Services

In most destinations we have a 'short list' selection of hotels and guest houses, because quite simply they are our favourites, based on their efficiency, happy disposition and helpfulness of their management and staff as well as positive feedback.

We honestly share information on all the products and services with which we contract, and we welcome any feedback – good or bad – whether it be product specific, destination related or general, to monitor our product offering and keep us on track, to continually enhance and improve our website and what we offer to you.

Within certain areas/destinations we may not have listed individual accommodation options, this is not to say that we cannot arrange accommodation (or any other services) here, we prefer to always highlight and list 'our favourites' so that they receive maximum exposure.

Choose the 'way' you want to travel

Your options are endless!

If you have an adventurous edge to your personality, are young (and single is probably another criteria that will work in your favor), opt for an overland safari, within a group tour, in a specially modified overland truck (usually a Unimog), where shared basic accommodation (or camp site tents) and perhaps some light camp duties, is order of they day. An overland safari allows you to meet people, have loads of fun and shared experiences, it comes in at a good price and generally covers a number of highlights and countries.

If a value for money safari is what you are after, but you would prefer to steer clear of the large group overlander scenario, there are shared accommodation adventure safaris, that run on small group scheduled departures, that would suit you.

If freedom on holiday is what 'blows your hair back', then hop in a hire car and travel South Africa or Namibia on your own terms and in your own time. We have a number of tried and tested self-drive holiday itinerary suggestions to share with you. Alternatively head off the beaten track and discover a friendly South Africa, where small communities welcome you, and the ever changing landscape your companion.

Scheduled guided small coach tours take the fuss out of travel. Make friends en route, be guided by knowledgeable and experienced guides, visit all the main attractions and don't concern yourself with the logistics. This is travel made easy, particularly if you have limited time.

Africa has an endless parade of luxurious five star accommodation for you to choose from, with the latest trend being self-contained villas – basically your home-away-from-home – a house or villa that is set slightly apart from the main lodge or hotel, where you and the family are afforded complete privacy. These villas have those extra special touches, private pool, games room, nanny, butler or chef, private use safari vehicle and ranger. It is the ultimate in luxury family travel. Should you want to have access to a kitchen (fully equipped) but could forego on all the little luxuries of private butler or chef etc, there are wonderful apartment hotels which cater 'just for you' then, particularly in Cape Town, where we find tourists (international and local) will holiday for a number of days at a time.
